Development of the next suburb in Gungahlin, Kenny, is another step closer with the release of a consultancy tender to deliver the subdivision design phase of the project.

This follows on from engagement  with First Nations people to inform a Connecting with Country Framework in 2023 and in 2024 to finalise the Place Vision for Kenny where we sought feedback on how the vision could be implemented to meet the needs and desires of future residents, businesses, stakeholders and visitors.

394 people shared their feedback and ideas on the seven themes presented in the Kenny Place Vision:

  • Closely Connected: Easy access to amenities, nature, and jobs
  • Sustainable: Eco-friendly and climate-wise design
  • Diverse: A variety of housing options for different needs
  • Ngunnawal Culture: Respecting and honouring Ngunnawal culture and Country
  • Nature: Strong connections to nature and water
  • Social Infrastructure: Key amenities and services for residents
  • Village Feel: A village centre of shops, cafes and community spaces

The full Listening Report summarising feedback received during the engagement is available on the YourSay Conversations project page.

SLA will keep the community informed of how Kenny is progressing through the masterplan development and  subdivision design phase of the project.
