Display Village Venue Hire
The SLA Display Village in Whitlam offers venue hire opportunities to support the delivery of community activities and events. These venues include the Mingle Community Space and the outdoor garden area.
The Mingle community space is located in one of SLA’s display homes, providing a sun filled area with a domestic kitchen, bathroom, chairs, tables, a large TV screen and heating/cooling. Adjacent to the main room is a smaller room that stores the chairs and tables and can be a break out space with lounges and privacy. The rooms look out through glass sliding doors into a large, fenced courtyard.
This space hosts a variety of community facing activities, including Pilates classes and Playgroup, educational and creative workshops.
The outdoor area contains a large, grassed area surrounded by a terraced demonstration climate wise garden, some outdoor seating, a sandpit and under cover seated area.
Both are available for hire by community members, groups, organisations and small business who would like to deliver an activity or event that would benefit the community. Please note that no private events such as parties are allowed. Public liability insurance is required. There is no cost for hire.

Comfortable use of the Mingle community space is:
Room Dimensions: 6.4 m x 5.8m
- 25 to 30 people seated in rows
- 20 seated around tables
- 40 people standing
- 10 – 15 people in an active workshop (e.g. Pilates)
Available resources:
- square and rectangular tables
- 25 x adult chairs
- 8 x children’s chairs
- Cups, glasses, plates, cutlery (30 of each)
- 20 x lidded keep cups (not to be removed from room)
- 5.5 L Urn
- Large wall mounted TV screen (165cm)
- Dishwasher and two door fridge/freezer
- Microwave, induction stove and oven (provide own induction pots and pans)
- Cleaning equipment (mop, brooms and vacuum cleaner)
